Recreation in Port Ludlow |
|
Port Ludlow is a fabulous place for recreation! There are opportunities to suit a wide variety of interests, abilities, and needs. Residents can participate in organized activities or follow their own path on their own time schedule. Most of the pastimes that are the easiest to write about and photograph involve outdoor activities, such as boating, golf, or hiking. Other popular outdoor activities are swimming and kayaking. Property shared among the members of the Master Planned Resort via the Bay Club and the Beach Club also includes basketball and tennis courts. You can get more information about all these activities on the pages inside this section. The clubs also include indoor activities which range from physical, such as squash or dance to sedate, such as computers, quilting, or bridge and everything between. The Bay Club hosts a series of performances year round, which range from jazz to chamber music, to orchestra, to plays, similar to the cultural events available from the Centrum at Fort Worden, but on a smaller scale. Port Ludlow is home to many artists, and you can find their work displayed in the cooperative gallery up by American Marine Bank, at the Soul Garden Gallery in Hadlock, and in other venues around the county. The neighboring Chimacum area has also attracted many artists, especially those who need room for large workshops such as glass and metal artists, and Port Ludlow residents can visit their studios during the annual East Jefferson County Art Tour. |
